Volunteer With Us!
Missing Pet Partnership (MPP) is working to launch an innovative pilot project in King County (WA) that will involve physical searches for lost pets using detective-like skills, including search dogs trained to find lost pets.
Initially when we moved our training operations here (in April), we started working lost pet investigations. However, because of the decline in the economy and our lack of volunteers, we’ve been forced to suspend our lost pet services until we can find funding and volunteers. Please consider becoming involved and help Missing Pet Partnership build an innovative program in King County (and ultimately on a national level) that will reduce shelter kill rates and reunite lost companion animals with the families who love them!

Volunteer meetings are currently held twice a month at the Kent Senior Center (visit our Seattle Pet Hunters page for a schedule of events). Once we have sufficient participation, we will split the county into two sections and have monthly meetings in Kent and either Seattle or Bellevue.
Here’s a list of some of the things that we need volunteers to help us with:
- Answer lost pet emails
- Develop and edit our national newsletter
- Secure silent auction and raffle items for our fundraisers
- Assist in the planning and launch of fundraising events
- Misc. projects in our Federal Way office
- Filing in our Federal Way office
- Follow up investigations (phone calls to pet owners)
- Booth events (sales and/or customer service skills preferred)
- Seminar registrations (in our Federal Way office)
- Bookkeeping (Quick Books Pro) and financial reports
- Public Relations / Media
- Marketing (seminars and our organization)
- Board development
- Pet Detective for Lost Pet Investigations
- Lost Dog Surveillance / Capture
- Lost Cat Surveillance / Capture
- Lost pet poster creation
- Intersection Alerts (holding lost dog protests at intersections)
- K9 Training Assistant
- Temporary Foster Home for MAR Dog
- Temporary Foster Home for Target Cat
